The Nobel Prize for Literature is heading to Poland and Austria

The Nobel Prize for Literature was awarded to the Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk in 2018 and the Austrian author Peter Handke in 2019.

Olga Tokarczuk is one of the most famous contemporary Polish authors. Her books are published by the Krakow publishing house Wydawnictwo Literackie, one of our most important Polish customers. The director of the printer, Paweł Sławatycki, personally congratulated by telephone the representatives of the publishing house for the success of their court author.

The author's titles such as Opowiadania bizarne, Podróż ludzi Księgi or Prawiek i inne czasy were created in the Pohořelice printing house. It was the book Prehistory and Other Times that made the writer famous even outside Poland. The works have been translated into many world languages. In the Czech Republic, Brno publishing house Host is responsible for publishing her books. The Czech version of the successful title Běguni was also created in cooperation with us. Currently, reprints of all these novels are being prepared for the Polish market.

The Nobel Prize has been awarded since 1901 in five areas - physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and peace. This is done according to the will of Swedish scientist and industrialist Alfred Nobel. This award remains the most prestigious award possible.
