Production assurance and gas supply at CPI Germany

Many CPI presses are equipped with a natural gas powered dryer to fix the ink. Only with these dryers is it possible to achieve the high CPI quality. Only pure text volumes are less sensitive here and can be produced in so-called "coldset operation".

To ensure that we can continue to supply you without restriction and in the usual high quality in the coming months, CPI has developed a 'hybrid concept'.

We will equip all affected machines with liquefied gas burners, thus making it possible to switch between natural gas and liquefied gas.

In concrete terms, this means that we already commissioned the first conversion measures last week and will soon be starting with the first press in Ulm. "We don't want to wait here, nor do we want to be surprised if the worst comes to the worst." Explains Wigand Schirrmann, productivity manager at CPI.

Thanks to our technical professionals on site, the changeover is being carried out with foresight and precisely scheduled. The result is a changeover technology that allows us to convert from one type of gas to another in the shortest possible time. (the last sentence is superfluous in terms of content).

Sheetfed and digital presses can produce completely independent of the gas situation anyway. Overall, CPI sees itself very well positioned for the fall due to the hybrid feature on the presses. CPI will have unrestricted access to the complete press fleet.

But that is not all. Right now, CPI is taking the opportunity to examine renewable sources and project their technical feasibility. "Now that we have ensured security, we want to devote ourselves to the real challenge and use renewable energy in a timely manner." reports Robert Höllein, management spokesman at CPI.
